You might like to know who “we” are. This is not an easy question to answer! You possibly know there are other people purporting to represent Coláiste Íosagáin. There is more than one site. Well, to be honest with you we were all originally together on one committee, and being Irish we hade a falling out . Two committees were formed. Two websites were created. This is one of them and the only one on which you can buy the book. I call that “our group”.
Our group went ahead and published the book. Our group asked permission from the various bodies for permission to use photographs . We have the official sanction of the De la Salle order which significantly sponsored the book and are represented on this committee. So “we” are the group which published the book. I am part of the group, I am Kieran Groeger and I edited the book. I will also edit this Blog. I took out copyright on the book. The others have published large parts of the book without permission. The others have also published many photographs without permission. They may even be asking you to pay for them. Don’t! It is such a pity that a small group of elderly men could not agree to work together without hassle, without browbeating and shouting. Since the “split” no one has been shouted down on our group. There are no “executive only “meetings.
Anyway that is who we are . From the sales of the book we have a small surplus of money in our bank account and we want to use that money for a dedicated charitable cause. Let us know by email if you have opinions on what might be done with a surplus.
We would also love to hear from you. Tell us where you are what you have done with your life. Send a recent photograph , us what year(s) you were in Ballyvourney. If you have the book send a photo of yourself with the book. Like this :
